Dance Marathons
A Riley Dance Marathon is a student-driven, year-round commitment to generate funds for Riley. This commitment culminates in a continuous, multi-hour fundraising event which blends games, music, dancing and philanthropy into one experience.
In 1991, Indiana University student Jill Waibel organized the first Riley Dance Marathon to raise money for Riley Hospital in honor of her friend, AIDS activist and Riley patient Ryan White.
Today, Riley Dance Marathons have taken Indiana schools by storm! High school and college students across the state have become passionate about raising money for Riley Hospital through fun and inspirational dance marathons.
Dance marathon student volunteers and leaders plan and execute the event as they learn about their capabilities and strengthen their leadership skills.
You can become involved in your school’s dance marathon by volunteering as a committee member or leader. You can also raise money through pledge requests, coin collections, sponsorships and more.
If your school does not have a Riley Dance Marathon, you can begin the process of bringing one to your school today!
