Radiothons

Riley Children’s Foundation holds five radiothons each year with all donations directly supporting Riley Hospital for Children. Each radiothon lasts two to three days for eight–12 hours a day. Radiothons are not only designed to raise money for Riley, but also to raise awareness about the hospital and foundation that impacts so many lives.

During each radiothon, you’ll hear Riley kids and families share their stories of battling and overcoming challenges in life. You’ll hear about Riley Champions making differences in their communities. You’ll experience the hope that happens at Riley.

What is the Riley Radiothon program?

Riley Children’s Foundation holds five events per year, in five different Indiana radio markets. Each event, or radiothon, is broadcast over the radio and gives listeners the opportunity to hear life-changing stories of patients and families and donate financial support to benefit Riley Hospital for Children.

When is the radiothon?

The radiothon takes place five times per year in five Indiana markets. The Indianapolis Radiothon is in February on WFMS. The Fort Wayne Radiothon is in September on WAJI. The Lafayette Radiothon is in September on WKOA. The Evansville Radiothon is in August on WIKY.  The South Bend Ratiothon will begin in 2010 on WHFB.

Where is the radiothon held?

The Indianapolis, Lafayette and Fort Wayne radiothons are all held at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. The Evansville Radiothon is held at Old National Bank in Evansville. The location for the South Bend Radiothon is TBD.

Where do my donations go?

Your donations will directly support patient care and pediatric medical research at Indiana’s only comprehensive children’s hospital, Riley Hospital for Children.

How can I get involved?

Each radiothon is an opportunity for patients, families, Riley doctors and staff and anyone else who has been impacted by Riley over the years to become involved. There are various ways to get involved, including:

• Pledge financial support during a radiothon
• Share Your Story: talk over the radio about how Riley has impacted your life
• Volunteer: We always need help answering phones, planning and executing the events
• Make a gift online to help Riley

What does a “monthly gift” mean?

A monthly gift is an important gift that continues as long as you want it to. There is not an end date placed on it at this time, but you are welcome to call Riley Children’s Foundation at any time if you decide to change or cancel your giving.

My company has a company matching gift program. What do I do?

For most companies, you should submit your gift receipt and any necessary paperwork to the appropriate person on staff. Riley Children’s Foundation does not send notification to your company letting them know you made a donation.
