The Atrium The atrium serves as a welcoming area for families and the location for many patient events throughout the year. Children love seeing the stuffed animals high above, tossing pennies in the "stream," and watching the glass elevators. At the back of the atrium is the facade of the original hospital built in 1924, to the right is the 1971 addition, and to the left is the 1986 addition.
