INDIANAPOLIS (April 8, 2015) – Children with cancer at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health have been invited to experience circus fun “Under the Big Top” during the sixth annual Riley Cancer Center Prom on May 1. Thanks to Women for Riley, a volunteer group dedicated to supporting the missions of Riley Children’s Foundation and Riley Hospital for Children, the patients’ fun-filled circus adventure begins on April 9 and 10 at Promingdale’s sponsored by PwC, where they’ll pick their perfect ensemble.

Over 1,000 donated dresses, tuxedos, shoes, purses, jewelry and other accessories will line the shelves of the imaginative boutique known as Promingdale’s sponsored by PwC. The event will be bustling:  Personalized shoppers will help 150 Riley Cancer Center patients and siblings choose their dream outfits for the special occasion. Patients will also vote for the Prom King and Queen among the Riley Cancer Center Staff.

Promingdale’s and Riley Cancer Center Prom were created for children with cancer within 12 months of treatment. The events have become highly anticipated for patients, siblings, parents and staff alike.

Approximately 100 Women for Riley members donate their time and money towards projects at Riley Hospital, with priorities focused on Riley Cancer Center Prom and funding grants for Indiana’s only nationally ranked and comprehensive children’s hospital.

Each year, 80 percent of children diagnosed with cancer in Indiana turn to Riley Hospital for their treatment. To make a donation to Riley Hospital’s cancer center or pediatric cancer research, visit RileyKids.org.
