Shelia and Jameson Dolan

Riley Hospital for Children is committed to the health and well-being of children across Indiana and throughout the world. And now, momentum continues to build for Riley Hospital.

I am proud to announce the launch of our Be the Hope NOW campaign to raise much needed funds in support of three high-priority programs:

  • Pediatric Research and Patient Care
  • Maternity and Newborn Health
  • Family Support Programs

Your gifts to this campaign mean the world to families like the Dolans. On the day Shelia Dolan gave birth to her youngest child, her big question was, “will my son breathe?”

Specialists at the donor-funded Fetal Center at Riley Children’s Health discovered that baby Jameson had organs growing outside of his abdomen and compromised lungs, and that Shelia was at risk for a dangerous problem with her placenta.

Because these problems were detected in advance, doctors were able to form a plan for Jameson’s birth and follow-up surgeries, as well as perform an emergency hysterectomy on Shelia after delivery to save her life.

Today, Jameson is delighting his parents and sisters with his smiles. Shelia says. “I feel like Jameson is here today and has a really good shot at a wonderful, fulfilling life because of the wonderful group of people who cared for him.”

Be the Hope NOW and join our fight today. Together, we can make more stories like the Dolans’ possible.
