Creating holiday ornaments from Riley kid artwork has become one of our favorite traditions. For many years now, Riley Ornaments have been available for purchase during the holiday season with proceeds coming back to support the kids at Riley Hospital for Children.

Today, we would like you to hear from two of this year’s Riley Holiday Artists, Maddie Dean and Tate Hartzler.

Maddie is a 10-year-old from Fort Wayne. She has received treatment at Riley for juvenile dermatomyositis as well as pseudotumor cerebri. Tate is a 7-year-old from Russiaville, Ind. He has received treatment at Riley for liver cancer and is now 6 years cancer-free.

What has been your favorite part about being a Riley Holiday Artist so far?

Maddie: Being able to see my artwork on an ornament and the photo shoot. Loved having my picture being taken.

What do you love most about Riley Hospital?

Tate: I love playing basketball and monsters with Ann (Ann Haddix, PNP) and my doctors. I love that Riley Hospital made me feel better. And I love helping Riley with my ornament.

There is still time left to purchase Riley Holiday Ornaments!
