Carter Swathwood’s Riley Hospital for Children journey started with an emergency helicopter flight due to respiratory failure caused by the H1N1 flu.
Today, Carter is a typical healthy boy, tackling on the football field and gearing up for travel baseball.
Through his journey he also developed a passion for giving back. Through selling lemonade and bracelets, Carter has raised more than $8,700 for Riley Children’s Foundation through the Purdue University Dance Marathon.
He served as a 2014 Riley Champion.
