Riley Champions

The Riley Champions program launched four years ago to honor Riley patients who have inspired communities with their bravery and commitment to help others. Riley Champions reach beyond their own medical challenges to give meaning to their struggles by raising awareness, from organizing blood drives to sharing their stories at events. These young people become our most powerful advocates.

Riley Champions are selected from nominations submitted by Riley Hospital caregivers, Riley Children’s Foundation staff, school administrators and others inspired by their character.

2012 Riley Champions:
Andrew Armstrong, 14 - Fort Wayne
Keondia Woodley, 14 - Granger
Ryan Lopez, 8 - Monticello
Evan Meade, 17 - Franklin
Mickey Deputy, 14 - Indianapolis
Lea Zebrowski, 17 - Terre Haute
Seth Gorman, 17 - Newburgh

Honorary Riley Champion:
Jacob McConahay, 7 - Indianapolis

Do you know someone who has received care at Riley Hospital within the last three years who should be considered by the Riley Champions selection committee? Please nominate them and tell us why. Nominees should be between the ages of 8-18, as these Riley ambassadors will be asked to publicly share their stories.

To nominate someone complete a nomination form. Selected Riley Champions are notified in September and are announced at the Riley Annual Luncheon.
