The annual Riley Cancer Center Prom in May is magical night where cancer takes a back seat to fun.
More than 350 patients and family members gather to dance the night away together and enjoy food, fun and friendship.
Promgoers also receive pampering, hairstyling and makeup at the “Riley Day Spa,” and are able to choose their own complimentary gowns, tuxedos, shoes and accessories at the annual Promingdale’s boutique in April.
Women for Riley, Riley Cancer Center and Riley Children’s Foundation are partners in this special initiative for children.

Riley Chastain November 18, 2015
On March 9, 2015, Riley Marie Chastain became one of fewer than 20 babies ever delivered in a Riley Hospital for Children operating room. She had a 10 percent chance of survival. Her heart surgeon had just minutes to save her life. Riley defied incredible odds and we celebrate the hope you provide to grateful families like hers.×
Bo Meagher November 17, 2015
Bo Meagher is a lover and a fighter. He cuddled with Riley Hospital staff members before ringing the bell to celebrate his completion of treatment for acute myeloid leukemia (AML). You give hope to children like Bo by helping Riley physicians scientists use genetic sequencing to uncover more precise and effective treatments. We celebrate Bo as we watch and reflect on his Riley journey.×

Hayden Dietz September 21, 2015
When he was just a few months old, Hayden Dietz, of Fort Wayne, was diagnosed at Riley Hospital for Children with a heart condition called mitral valve regurgitation, which was caused by a congenital heart defect. Hayden has had three open-heart surgeries at Riley, all performed by Riley Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon Mark Turrentine, M.D. Today, Hayden is doing well and continues follow-up appointments with Riley Pediatric Cardiologist Mark Hoyer, M.D. Hayden’s experiences have inspired his family. His grandmother, Valli Dietz, serves on the Northeast Indiana Riley Leadership Committee. Valli and her husband Dave also made a generous gift in support of Riley cardiology research that was combined with a retirement gift from Dave’s employer, Do it Best Hardware. As Valli explains, “If it wasn’t for Riley, Hayden wouldn’t be here.”×
