95.5 WFMS Radiothon Listeners Respond to Critical Funding Needs at Riley Hospital

For the 12th straight year, Cumulus Media hosted a 2-day radiothon benefitting Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. $84,103 was raised. Over the past 12 years, WFMS and Cumulus have a cumulative total of support for Riley Hospital of over $2 million.
Donations from listeners support these critical fundraiser priorities:

  • Research and patient care: Riley is recruiting the best investigators and speeding innovative life-saving treatments
  • Maternity and Newborn Health: Indiana ranks 45th nationwide in infant mortality, and Riley will soon offer a full spectrum of maternity care in an effort to combat this statistic
  • Family Support Programs: The Child Life Department and social work provide access to important support services for patients and families

All three of the Indianapolis Cumulus stations participated on February 26 and 27. Listeners of 95.5 WFMS The Country Station, 104.5 WJJK Classic Hits and 93.9 The Beat heard stories from dozens of Riley families throughout the WFMS Riley Radiothon presented by Ziebart Window Tint. Recorded and live interviews with Riley patients and parents painted a picture for listeners on the precise nature of the world-class work and research Riley is doing.

95.5 WFMS DJs, including Jim Denny, Deborah Honeycutt, Kevin Freeman and Tammy Lively spearheaded the on-air efforts and provided an entertaining and informative platform to engage listeners.

“Riley Hospital has been a blessing to my family on more than one occasion.  I’m honored to be a part of the annual WFMS Radiothon. When you hear the stories these families share with us, it’s just a healthy dose of perspective.  I am a Miracle Maker for Riley Hospital and always will be,” said Tammy Lively, WFMS personality.
