Papa John and Boomer celebrate Riley Hospital for Children
Indiana native Papa John Schnatter and Indiana Pacers’ mascot Boomer will visit Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health patients on Thursday, April 17. The visit celebrates the Indiana Pacers commitment to the community and Papa John’s support of Indiana’s only nationally ranked and comprehensive children’s hospital.
Papa John will deliver pizza to Riley Hospital families and staff, present a $50,810 check to Riley Children’s Foundation from the Hope Happens Here Meal Deal promotion, visit patients in the Riley Hospital Cancer Center, and take pictures with patients during a Papa John’s Pizza and Indiana Pacers themed-Child Life Party.
Papa John’s Pizza launched a partnership in May 2013 with Indiana Pacers All-Star Paul George to support Riley Hospital. Papa John’s donates $1 of every order of its Hope Happens Here Meal Deal to Riley Hospital. Papa John’s has raised $65,986 for Riley Hospital since May 2013.
The Hope Happens Here Meal Deal offer remains valid, and includes a large Papa John’s pizza with up to two toppings, breadsticks, and a 2-liter Pepsi product for $15. The promotion is available online only in Special Offers or with the promo code RHC15.
“Riley Hospital for Children provides a much needed service to Indiana and the opportunity to help kids is very important to me,” said John Schnatter, Papa John’s founder, chairman and CEO. “We are excited to offer the Hope Happens Here Meal Deal in Central Indiana to help support Riley Hospital. Papa John’s is focused on quality, not only as it relates to our pizza but also to the community we live in. I founded Papa John’s in Indiana almost 30 years ago so this area is particularly special to us and we remain committed to bettering the community by giving back.”
Riley Hospital’s Cancer Center, a national leader in providing clinical care and conducting research for pediatric cancer, treats 85 percent of all Indiana children diagnosed with cancer. Each year, approximately 250 children in Indiana are diagnosed.
