Ethan Spent 10 Months In The Riley NICU

Ethan Brookshear

It was the scariest moment of Lori’s life. Just 26 weeks into her already complicated pregnancy, she sat tense in Riley’s fetal ultrasound room waiting for answers.

Lori was hopeful her baby would have more time to grow. Instead, she found out he had only hours left to survive in the womb. Her placenta was in failure.

Being an ultrasound technician, Lori knew all the worst-case scenarios. It wasn’t until her own high-risk pregnancy that she fully understood just how much donor support helps expectant mothers and saves babies like her son Ethan.

When Ethan was born, he weighed just one-and-a-half pounds. Without the donor-supported team at Riley’s Newborn Intensive Care Unit, Ethan wouldn’t have survived to his first birthday.

After spending 10 months at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health Ethan is now home with his family.

Every dollar you give today helps babies like Ethan and will be matched dollar for dollar by French Lick Resort through midnight on December 31, 2019.

Let’s unite to save more babies’ lives. Please help Ethan and other babies like him beat the odds by donating at BeTheHopeNOW.org.
