Gifts at Work

Topics: About Us
One of most significant recognitions we ever receive is when families like the Bridegrooms of Chesterton, Ind., wish they could “give back” to Riley Hospital to say thank you for the exceptional care they have experienced. But we know our Riley families alone cannot bear the burden of raising support and funds for Riley Hospital. It takes all of us.
When a child such as Phoenix Bridegroom faces a life-threatening health crisis, Riley’s specialists and physician-scientists need to be well-equipped to save them. Gifts of hope have helped Riley Hospital rise to the top tier of pediatric clinical and research hospitals in our nation.
Here are just a few ways that gifts from friends of Riley have made a difference this year:
- Every hospitalized child now has a private room in the Simon Family Tower.
- Our new operating rooms offer surgeons more space and flexibility, and our heart patients now have echocardiogram and advanced telemetry services on the unit
A new NeuroNICU program is providing extra monitoring for the brains of at-risk infants
Physician-scientists in the Wells Center for Pediatric Research have received “seed money” to help them complete the early studies needed to win federal research grants.
- Child Life Specialists, social workers and teachers with the Riley School Program are available to provide comfort and support to every hospitalized child.
As we enter the season of giving, I send special thanks to everyone who does their part to help sick and injured children through The Gift of Hope Happens Here campaign. Your compassion allows Riley Hospital to carry its 90-year legacy of hope and healing for children into the next generation.
