I Am The Riley Wagon, What Riley Kids What For Christmas

Topics: About Us
Dear Riley Friends,
I am the Riley wagon.
I wish I could show everyone what the holiday season looks and sounds like at Riley.
As I wheel through the halls, I see hundreds of small heads on clean pillows.
I see tiny hands pulling IV poles decorated with ornaments.
I see paper snowflakes, colored lights, and tiny trees next to hospital beds.
I see snowmen drawn with crayons.
I see painted handprints creating the candles on a menorah.
I hear carols sung by staff and special visitors.
I hear the jingling of sleigh bells when Santa comes to visit.
I hear kids making wish lists:
“I want a Paw Patrol play set.”
“I want a Baby Shark puppet.”
“I want a Barbie Dream Plane.”
There are also wishes like these:
“I want a new heart.”
“I want to be done with chemo.”
“I want to bring my baby home.”
“I want my child to have the chance to grow up.”
Here at Riley, there is no question about what matters most during this season.
May our community’s generosity help bring peace, joy, and HOPE to children who are hospitalized for the holidays.
