Riley Children’s Foundation has implemented several safety measures during the coronavirus outbreak designed to protect our staff, our donors and the many families with whom we engage. Please know that our team remains eager to assist you. However, you may notice a few changes in the ways we respond and interact with you in the weeks ahead. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging time.

Donations made via check

As a result of a stay-at-home order issued for the state of Indiana, our staff at Riley Children’s Foundation has put a hold on U.S. mail. Any checks mailed to the Foundation offices may be delayed in processing.

We encourage donors who wish to make a gift to consider other options at this time. Online giving via credit card is simple and secure. You may also make a gift of stocks or give via ACH (commonly known as Electronic Funds Transfer or EFT). For more information, please contact Kate Brinkerhoff, Vice President of Leadership Giving, at or 317-446-6580.

Additional safety measures

Riley Children’s Foundation implemented the following precautions effective March 13. They will remain in place until at least July 5:

We are suspending our own in-person events and pausing staff and volunteer participation in any independent events held by individuals, schools and other organizations to benefit Riley Children’s Foundation. This includes suspending visits from our Riley Champions and other families who serve as ambassadors.

Our team is joining many others across the state and nation in working from home. While we expect very little disruption in our ability to respond to donor needs, this might mean a thank you note takes a little longer to reach you, or some other task might be slightly delayed. We appreciate your patience.

We are putting all face-to-face visits with our generous donors on hold and are instead opting for phone calls, emails and video chats.

We are suspending tours of the James Whitcomb Riley Museum Home & Visitor Center and postponing private events.

We will continue to follow developments about COVID-19 and update our plans as appropriate.

A note to our vendors

In compliance with Indiana’s stay-at-home order, our staff will have limited access to our building. Please submit all invoices and related questions to

Committed to Indiana kids

We will continue to follow developments about COVID-19 and update our plans as appropriate.

We do not make these decisions lightly. We know that the patient care programs and research we help fund at Riley Hospital for Children and the Wells Center for Pediatric Research must continue. Therefore, our work to raise funds for these programs cannot stop.

Thank you for your understanding and continued commitment to providing all children with the opportunity for a healthy childhood.
